After developing my app https://stockdiary-dev.herokuapp.com i had problem hosting it in heroku because i needed to sign with my credit card for the mongolab(mlab) addon to work.
I had to fork the popular meteor-buildpack-horse to enable successfully host my app on heroku with the database on mongolab without any issues.
Here is the forked version of the buildpack https://github.com/egaleme/meteor-buildpack-horse
The readme contains all the steps you need.
